Friday, September 23: Opening reception from 6 -8 PM for the Images of Nature. Come see Osprey Landing, Intense and Sitting Pretty.

This is held at the Earth Discovery Center 
(nature center) at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis, IN.  At the opening reception you can meet the other photographers and me. They normally have nice light refreshments.

Directions: 
From the 56th Street Park entrance – go to the second left turn (toward the Marina). About halfway to the Marina, take the left turn marked by a sign to the Discovery Center. Follow the road to the Center. or from the 71st Street entrance, drive through the park to the first right turn. Then follow directions as above.

There is no fee to enter Eagle Creek Park for the reception but there is a fee at other times.
Exhibit Dates: Sept 23 – Oct 2nd 
9 AM – 5 PM Mon -Sat and 1 PM – 5 PM on Sun.

FRI 6/17-8/12/16 Figures of Speech Art Exhibit

A total of 14 Indiana artists and four Midwest artists (MO, IL, OH, WI) were juried into the show with a total of 31 pieces. Mediums range from oil, acrylic, and clay to stitched paper, collage, charcoal, glass, etched copper, and much more.

This juried art exhibit depicts Figures of Speech or “Sayings”.  Here are some examples of “figures of speech” that could be turned into a work of art:  “Birds of a feather flock together” and “the squeaky wheel gets the grease”.

The opening reception is from 6:00 -8:30 pm on Friday, June 17th, but sadly I cannot come. Take a look and see the other exhibits.

The IWA Exhibit will be on display from Monday, August 4, 2014 through Thursday, September 25, 2014.

The 31st Annual Exhibit of the Indiana Wildlife Artists includes two and three dimensional artwork in a variety of media and styles with a wide range of subjects. The show is judged by expert representatives for the Fine Arts and Wildlife Naturalist professions. This exhibit displays some of the finest amateur and professional artists working in the subject area of wildlife and nature in the entire State of Indiana.  Their goal is dedicated to preserving and promoting wildlife art as truly Fine Art. Retrospective Open House with Artist, Diana Hunter

Diana Hunter, a Signature Artist with the Indiana Wildlife Artists, enjoys photographing and painting wildlife and nature scenes. After teaching art at the Indianapolis Public Schools she now serves as an adjunct instructor at Indiana Wesleyan University. Come see a Snowy Egret dance, or view a colorful butterfly perched on a flower. View a malachite (named for a green mineral) butterfly resting on a leaf that it matches. View a hawk, buffalo, mallard ducks and a marmot among others. To round out the exhibit she has included 4 lovely paintings by her Mother, Mardenna J. Hunter (1910-2006). Diana Hunter’s artwork has been displayed at the Indiana State Fair, Eagle Creek’s “Images of Nature”, Irvington Presents, the Indiana Wildlife Artists Annual Exhibit, the Indianapolis Mayor’s Office, the Indiana Governor’s Mansion, the Lieutenant Governor’s Office and the Nature Conservancy of Indiana’s Exhibit at the Indianapolis International Airport. She has won numerous awards and is thankful to the Lord for all of the opportunities she has been given.

Any artwork sold at the reception will have 10% donated to Heart Change Ministries, Inc.  The mission of Heart Change is to strengthen and equip young mothers, who are in crisis and poverty, to be successful mothers and providers through a comprehensive course of biblical instruction, character development, work ethic, academic achievement and work readiness combined with supportive relationships.  About 70 families in the Indianapolis area were served last year.  See www.HeartChangeIndy.org

Monday, July 22, 2013  at Mayor Greg Ballard’s office. You are invited to the Mayor’s Art Exhibit Reception from 4:00-5:00 PM on the 25th floor of the City County Building.

I Like Coneflowers and This is Good! are more… 2 of Diana Hunter’s photographs, which are on display at Mayor Greg Ballard’s office located on the 25th floor of the City County Building in downtown Indianapolis.  She is one of over 30 different artists who reside in Indianapolis who has art work on display.  Mayor Ballard will be hosting an open house to showcase all the artists’ work on Monday, July 22, 2013, from 4:00 – 5:00 pm in the Mayor’s Conference Room on the 25th floor of the City-County Building.  You are invited.  Plus, see Parrish Cooper’s  superb original oil portraits. Parrish is my very artistic cousin. Also, all City and County employees will be invited to the open house to mix and mingle with the artists and tour the exhibit.
