My Burrow

Title: My Burrow by Diana Hunter

Description: Taken on Marco Island, Florida, this burrowing owl came out in front of its burrow.  Notice how well the owl blends in with its surroundings.  These owls are protected and often identified with a staked cord surrounding their area.  Sometimes humans provide them with small wooden staked crossbars in order for owls to perch on and see predators or else to see insects to eat.
